Our brand name Skaet, apart from the obvious, comes from an inherent belief in Kindness And Ethical practices, hence the spelling sKAEt. These values are the backbone of our brand, whether that be in relation to our product development and manufacturing or our belief in kind and ethical coaching within (professional) sports.
Additionally, we choose to manufacture our products in England. This gives us more visibility in ensuring our designs are made ethically and with meticulous attention to detail.
“Hi I’m Katarina a sustainability strategist and creative communicator. My inspiration comes from the beautiful ordinary; people, laughs, shadows, the movement of nature, the passing of time… These are all reminders of why what we do and how we do it have such great impact on everyone around us.
A passion that has long walked aside my work is ice skating. During my years with the sport I couldn’t find a brand that celebrated the beautiful ordinary of figure skating. The sport entails so much artistry that is bursting to be communicated and I wanted to create a space for it to exist in.”
We believe subtle confidence is the most timeless form of elegance and our designs adopt this philosophy too. Charmed by history, we were inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s ‘little black’ styles and the idea that even the simplest of designs have power.
Additionally, we wanted to create products that have a defined use – cold weather activities. For us this means taking into consideration all the attributes you’d expect from luxury thermals such as water repellency and thermal insulation. Our designs, therefore, are able to strike a perfect balance between tasteful and practical.
Our signature thermal fabric is an impeccably high quality Italian fabric from Miti. The fabric is bluesign® certified, meaning it has met the strictest standards throughout its supply chain.
The thermal and water repellent fabric has been engineered for winter sports to offer revolutionary comfort. Additionally, the thermal fabric is made with care from post consumer recycled materials.
